With this in mind, the website was designed to be built how consumers would realistically research a holiday to Sri Lanka. It shows you those places to visit and do in Colombo, Kandy, Ella & Galle, gives suggested multi-day trips, compares luxury vs budget travel ideas, has comprehensive articles on transportation, costs/culture/wildlife/experiences.
The platform delivers a content-rich architecture, with a fluid data structure and layout thats indexed and supported by responsive base styles allowing for continued growth of destination and travel-centric content in order to provide an intuitive experience both online through desktop (site), tablet (site) & mobile devices.
Case study
With so many destinations, routes and experiences to choose from, planning a trip to Sri Lanka for the very first time can certainly be daunting! The task was to structure an increasing volume of travel data into a site that still felt relatively simple to navigate, whilst allowing for long-form travel content to exist and optimised for search engines.
Created a travel content platform with dedicated sections including Itineraries, Destinations, Beaches, Hill Country, Food and Practical Travel Guides. It embedded island routes and destination-focused content, facilitating the transition from inspiration to trip planning.
Developed a scalable travel publishing platform that offers travellers one place to research what they need to know about Sri Lanka, where they can compare with different types of travel styles, uncover various destinations and plan an island itinerary in real time. The content architecture will then serve as the backbone for the continued growth of your destination-led and search-led travel content.
